"Shooter grade", good/great bore, tight breech, tight lock, condition of wood can be marginal to horrible. Would prefer the "locking" breech, but not necessary.
I would consider a "project" as long as it's not Nepalese, Farsi, or looks like it has been fine-tuned with a ballpeen or drug behind a camel. Looking for a Brit made gun.
Must be something out there...

There seem to be more of the cavalry carbines available presently than artillery carbines with the longer forearm, but there are a few short rifles that appear from time to time (and on this side of the pond).
