Anyone out there have a redundant Blakeslee box taking up valuable space they'd like to part with?

Richard: Thanks. If unable to find a bargain used box, Blockade Runner is what I'm watching. Reviews I've read are not altogether discouraging. Preparing my newly acquired Spencer and gathering the wherewithall to shoot it has beggared me...as you should know!

Richard -

You know....you are so good at ferreting stuff out, that the next time I'm looking for something I'm just going to ask you first where to get it!

Thanks a bunch, PJ; it's cheaper and in better shape than the $5000 one eBay. Be still, my beating heart!

I knew that would get yer juices ah flow'n.

Here's a very interesting link to read on all the manufactures of the Blakeslee boxes and input from folks that have bought/used them. I thought the neatest was someone bought the cheapest quality one money can buy from S & S. It started showing signs of falling apart not long after and he had Tommy Johnson used the brass, wood & fittings to make a Johnson quality one! NOw the price listed was also 2 1/2 years ago.

How about the $200.00 version? I have one. Made in Arizona as I recall, new, never taken afield, with TEN cartridge tubes, sling and even a Gaylord stamping. And yes, $200.00.

Mr. Sullivan: I'm interested. For $200 does this version come with what I believe to be the correct metal hinge attaching the box's top to its body? Thanks!

Yep, brass hinge secured w/tiny copper rivets. This compares favorably with the original I own, save for the tubes being made of aluminum.
