A person posted on the Company of Military Historians forum asking for rifling characteristics (no. lands and grooves, land and groove dimensions) of the "new model" Starr metallic cartridge-firing carbine. One of the CMH members may have that info but I wanted to check if anyone in NSSA has it.

Cannonman,

It's nice to try to help someone out by rounding up the info for them and for that your commended

I use to do the same thing when I had hours upon hours to play on here and it felt good to help others out.

Then it dawned on me if I made up ah lil form letter if you wil,l that directed those asking questions to the N-SSA board to ask their question.

I figure with the accrued knowledge here there is no better place to help them PLUS,,,,we introduce new folks to our site AND the N-SSA and hopefully a few new members will join our ranks just because they found out about us

I have several but this is the one I use the most when people ask a shooting or loading answer about War of Northern Aggression arms. Green Real short and simple.

"Your question may be better answered if you post it on the North-South Skirmish Assoc. where we shoot these in live fire competition.

Hope this helps! "

Thanks good idea. I did pretty much what you describe when I put the link back to this thread from the CMH thread with his question, so he'll be checking this board using that link. Using the link that goes to this exact thread will keep him from getting lost along the way.
