I just purchased a parker Hale musketoon and am looking for some info. The top of the barrel in front of the rear sight is marked parker-hale birmingham england.Top of the barrel near the nipple is a crown with BP below it. cartuche mark on the right side of the stock that has parker hale ltd. serial no 9465. It looks like it has been fired a few times with no deep scratches or gouges in the wood. blueing is 95-100% butt plate shows no damage screws are not showing any damage. I'm not sure if I want to keep this gun or not so I will accept offers pending value.

Richard yes it looks like an earlier made weapon in the 4 diget range. All other markings seem to be the same. Dave by the way it does not have made in Italy on the trigger plate.

Yeah, I have another carbine like yours (probably out of the same lot), just a few digits higher. And here's another one a few digits earlier (SN 7027). Notice no bordering on the lock-plate.

Below is yet an earlier example (SN 2537). Similarly, the lock-plate has no line bordering, while the 94XX series have a single line border, and the Italian-made P-H production have double line bordering. But perhaps you will also notice, the on-line asking price for this model carbine vary considerably.
