The skirmish medals of someone from the midwest are being auctioned off on E-Bay, and I'm curious who owned them. One of the medals was for the 104th (Fall 2001) A3 6th Place Musket team. Does anyone know what team that was?

You can see the auction at: http://cgi.ebay.com/Lot-9-Vintage-Civil ... 3a60f24854 (http://cgi.ebay.com/Lot-9-Vintage-Civil-War-Reenactment-Medals-/250734594132?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3a60f24854)

Maybe he is trying to raise some money to buy a new musket. If so, hope he gets a good price for them.

P.S. He should run a classified ad in a major newspaper in Mexico City-I am sure that there is always another Mexican General that needs more medals for his dress uniform!

Got to be somebody with the Iron Brigade Guard or someone they picked up?

If they came from an estate sale, the person might be deceaced.

These were acquired at an estate sale. Medals over all, he has 2 other lots on sale, go back 40 years.

And Ed, your point is? Hey, you've got to realize that I've got N-SSA medals going back over 30 years. One of my earliest medals is a Blankenship medal (like some of those included in the ebay sale) from the first skirmish held at Birmingham, Alabama, sponsored by the Racoon Roughs (November 1979), back when the future Deep South Region was still a part of the Central Virginia region. It was a 3rd Place 50 Yard Musket medal for a score of 48-3X that was beat out by a 49-1X and a 49-0X for first and second places.

Richard:

Gary was asking who it might be.

I know some folks have medals going back many years. Since the medals were acquired from an Estate, I was thinking it might be from one of our longtime members that has passed on to a better place. The first medal offered for sale was a 1969 medal, which means he was in the organization 41 years ago.

That might help him figure out who won these medals.

Like I said earlier, it's got to be somebody with the Iron Brigade Guard or someone they picked up? That's the unit who won 6th Place in Musket at the 104th, and they were formerly in the Western Region, though I notice they are no longer listed on the Western Region unit roster. Gary, was not the Iron Brigade Guard also a ACWSA team? Maybe someone on that team can shed light on these medals.

Is this an exercise in "Cabin Fever"?

;-D

I don't think there was an "Iron Brigade Guard" around back then. I'm thinking it was the 6th Wisconsin, but I was hoping someone could confirm that through and old Skirmish Line. I noticed the Old Northwest Territory (ONT) medals from the Civil War Skirmish Association (CWSA) too.

I don't have cabin fever yet, but I could be in denial about that one...

Gentlemen,
It's way too early for cabin fever! You all need to take up roundball. We shoot all yeat long here in SOUTHRON Ohio. The New Year's day beef shoot and Groundhog day egg shoot are perrenial favorites. Flintlocks Forever!

John,

Yeah, so what's your point? You know you would hunt in that snow AND REALLY LOVE IT!

Only if John had some good scrapple like Habbersett for sandwichs could he brave the cold and snow to shoot a flintlock with round ball.
