I am thinking of undertaking a project of building a P53 3-band Enfield and will be needing a barrel. I would like to find a good quality barrel with close-to-original rifling, including the 1 in 78" twist. Also, it is important that it be as close in dimension, weight and details as an original, particularly in the breach area. I have happily bought and used Whitacre's barrels in the past, but from his website, it looks like he only offers barrels in a 1 in 72" twist, and I really prefer the 1 in 78" twist if I can find it. Any recommendations?

Ask Bob Hoyt. I believe he can make any twist you want. 717 642 6696

when he has a couple of lathes and or other machines running at the same time it is pretty noisy in his shop and he may not hear the phone. Keep trying, persistence pays off.
