Does anyone use a Lyman 450 for the Eras Gone Smith Carbine bullets? I just picked up a Lyman 450, but don't know which top punch to use. Do I have to get one custom made for the really pointy bullet nose?

If you have a spare punch, you can put some jbweld in the cavity, smear some petroleum jelly on the nose of the bullet, and pinch them together in your bench vice. You'll get a custom top punch.

I recommend nose-first die from Tom Crone though. Use with a Lee single press.

A good short term solution is to place a dollop of hot melt glue in your nose punch and hold together until it sets. I also used Vaseline on the bullet nose.
It lasted a really long time and was easily removed.
