Thoughts on Mike Yeck, Smith Carbine?

I just turned up a Yeck Smith carbine, seems to have had a bump in the stock which appears a bit off but otherwise unbroken, and the clean out screw may have broken in the past, it has since been retapped 6x48 and is a blind hole. Anything particularly peculiar about these, and are any pf the things mentioned above common?

Turns out the cleanout screw didn't terminate at a blind hole, but that it had that much crud built up, I'm soaking the breech and will hopefully clear the flash hole. The serial number is in the low 400s.
