Anybody know a source for a 28" barreled Jaegerstutzen musket?

There are no reproduction nipples made spcifically for an original Austrian Army Jaegerstutzen. The Austrian Army used Schritt based measurements until 1872, following Austria's adoption of the Metric system in 1871. A Schritt was a military pace of 29.5 inches/.75 meters. Plus, the thread pitch is slightly off for both English and Metric thread. Try an 8MX1 or 8mX1.25 nipple. 8M is right for the size of the hole, but the problem is the pitch. Both are close, and one of them will probably work if the manufacturer's tolerances were loose enough. Wrap the nipple in Teflon plumbers tape.

I got these I think from Track of The Woff. There 8X125 Italian nipples. They fit perfectly in my Jager and tighten the groups right up.
If they still have them buy 2 or 3 so you have them. their hard to find.
