This ramrod came in a M1863 type II musket. The barrel has been shortened 1/2". This ramrod looks to be an Enfield style ramrod. Diameter is .445" at the tulip shape, .255" at the diameter just below the tulip shape, and .242 closer to the end. The end tapers from the .242" diameter for about 1" to the threaded end. Length is approximately 38 3/4 inches. Is this the correct ramrod for my musket?
Thank you,
Pat

Some of the later type II 1863 muskets had a ramrod that looked like yours. I don't have any dimensions, etc on them to make an informed assessment.

From American Military Shoulder Arms by Moller, quote the 39 and five eights inch straight rod has a cupped head with six grasping grooves around its circumference, and a three eighths inch slot for a wiping rag. The rear end is threaded for ball screw and wiper. End quote
