I'm looking for a good, high resolution (300 dpi) image of a M1861 30-pounder (4.2 inch) Parrott rifle (Army model) on a siege carriage to accompany an article I've written about "Long Tom," the gun that fired the first shots at Bull Run. A period image would be nice but the Library of Congress website doesn't seem to have anything suitable. A modern photo of an original or repro tube on a repro siege carriage will also serve my purposes. Hope someone out there knows where I can dig up such an image.

Hi Jim, the Paulsons shoot these things frequently, original Parrott 30 pdrs. on siege carriages. They may have some pix on their website, I have not checked, but certainly they have some in their files, I'd try them. Second possibility is Charlie Smithgall. I may have something from CannonRest (Jim Schoenung) who has a huge archive of cannon pix-havent' had time to check his cd's though.
