i just acquired a two cavity Moose 36 Maynard Mould. It casts a .378 165 grain bullet which is too large for my Maynard which uses a .367 bullet. Does anyone have an7y experience with this bullet?

Hello, Jim:

That 114 gr. (SORRY, tx, Jim, 165gr.) Moose mould 35 Maynard bullet with large, as-cast diameter may be via Mike Davenport who shared original 24" twist with Bobby for his barrel work, paired with the original shorter, lighter bullet with Moose.

What alloy did you use, please? The 165 gr may stabilize in an 18" twist Romano 35 cal, but sizing so much to fit will reduce lube capacity...edited for 175gr weight, not 124gr. KT

Smiles.

Kevin,

Bullet weighs 165 grains. Too much sizing for .367 final diameter. Not planning to shoot it. Perhaps someone else can use the mould for revolver or another 36 rifle that has a larger bore.
