Flaydermans 8th edition published 2001 describes it as type 1 but harpers ferry 1836 dated lock plate could make it a type 111. Who knows on a 200+ yr old gun.
Flaws include stock has been redone with checkered wrist.
Small 1? crack between lock plate date and trigger.
Small crack on left side under plate with lock screws. Cracks do not seem to intersect.
Middle band is incorrect.
Rear sling swivel is missing.
Pluses. Everything else appears original to my knowledge. Bore looks shootable. Not all that bad.
22 yr old book lists type 1 good condition $1500. Type 111 good condition $2250. I?ll split the diff and list for sale at $1800. Probably worth more at today?s prices. If it was in fine condition estimate could be $3500-$6500.
