Anyone have a Rapine mold for the 1881 500 gr .45-70 arsenal bullet? Marked 460500

(The Saeco 45cal 1881 would probably work, but only IF it casts oversize)

I really need the .460" version rather than the .457" which was also a Rapine option

You can gain one or two thousandths by using harder lead, wheel weights or tin added to your alloy. Just don't put that in your minie pot.

Take a look at Accurate Molds. They will make it any diameter you want. I'm sure they have a close copy of the 1881 bullet except it will have a 3/16" diameter meplat.

I agree. My 1888 TD has a .463 groove dimension. Accurate made me an 1881 style mould in .464 that has worked very well. Yes, I can fit it in Winchester brass using a bigger case mouth expander.
