Help with Smith

Hey all, need advice. Just got a nice shooter original Smith. It was a little loose at the hinge as the seller told me. Bought a replacement screw from S & S. The original screw came out without much of a fight, liquid wrench and the proper application of a hammer. Anyway, it is tighter than it was but could be tighter. Any suggestions??? You have to remember that all replacement screws that sutlers sell are "one size fits all".

There used to be available different size hinge screws - oversize .001, .002, etc, that would tighten up the action. Other options are to peen the top strap lock block on the buttstock side of the receiver just a tiny bit. A less drastic way is to put a washer under the top strap screw which changes its geometry only slightly enough to sometimes take a better/Tighter bite of the receiver - downside to all of this is sometimes makes opening the action following a shot difficult.
