If possible- Looking for the "inside" measurements of a middle barrel band on a 1842 musket. ( Must be an original band-not repro.) If you could give me side to side near the band shoulders, and top to bottom, of the band. Thanks in advance to any one who can help with this,
Steve

This is from an 1844 dated Springfield. The side to side measurement right under the lip for the barrel is 1.18" and the top to bottom height is 1.44". Hope this helps.

Steve,
Get ahold of me by phone if you still need help and I will stop by with a couple of bands that you can measure for yourself. I also have a little problem you may be able to help me with...

Thanks, but I have about 30 bands I just found, I was not sure what they were for, but it turns out they are exactly the measurement that was provided to me on this site. Guess I'm all set for building and repairing 1842's!

If any one needs a middle band with swivel- I can help! ( Only 11 left)

Thanks, and feel free to stop buy with your question- Steve

If any one needs a middle band with swivel- I can help! ( Only 15 left) Just got mine from him.
In my humble opinion, they are a good buy.
Gonna get 2 more for projects languishing in the closet.
