Can the 1842 Springfield smoothbore Musket be cutdown to a 2 band? Repro of course.....

You bet! I've seen plenty of them. They're faster to load, I'll grant that, but I guess I'm a purist and don't think they should be allowed in the same SB competition with the full-lengths. Just venting--don't expect anything to change, tho'.

3 band rifled muskets compete against 2 banders, what's the difference?

what's the difference? The shorter the barrel; the heavier the recoil!

Sling swivel added to butstock in the same fashion as the CS Richmond Carbine in .58 Caliber
