Okay,

So, I am looking for a Pedersoli 1862 Sharps Carbine. If I get one, new from facory, what modifications need to be done and who can do the modifications?

Any help and advice is greatly appreciated. I have never shot a Sharps Carbine and have been a Smith Carbine guy for years. But I am getting tired of shooting a Smith. I am tired of my Smith shooting good one day and not the next. So, I am changing to a Sharps.

I also have a Gallagher Carbine, but that is for another post..

Thanks

Pedersoli makes an "1859" and an "1862 Confederate" Sharps.

You will almost certainly have gas leakage problems from the breech. Larry Flees can fix this. You can see my review of his work here:

I will point out, however, that if you can even find a new Pedersoli Sharps, by the time you buy it and pay to have it fixed you can buy a base-model Shiloh Sharps for about the same money that they say will work out-of-the-box.

Wait time is currently about 2 years from Shiloh.

Thank you. I will try and reach out to Larry Flees, and see if he will still do this modification.
