Does anyone out there use a crimp die. Saw an article years ago but cant remember what or where .Any info would be helpful Thanks

The idea behind a crimp die is to create consistent start pressure for cartridges fed through an action. Using it can work harden and shorten the life of those very pricy cases.
A 36 cal Maynard, being a single shot, doesn't need a crimp if you load with powder, filler (if needed) and bullet to an overall length where the bullet touches the leade of the rifling.
My grandson shoots my 1st model Romano loaded that way with outstanding results.
