Here is a verified genuine Civil War era, Number 2 Army which comes with a factory letter stating the date of shipment as August 22 1864. This is a three pin, type 4 Army and is matching numbers thru out, including the Rosewood grips which are not cracked or chipped up. The gun locks up solid with minimal play, and has visible rifling with distinct lands and grooves. The trigger and action works fine.
This gun was shipped to J.W. Storrs in New York, NY on August 22 1864 and interesting enough, Storrs had a contract to ship guns to Britian at the time of the Civil War, and Britian was a source of guns for the Confederate Army as noted in The English Connection by Pritchard and Huey. $925.00 shipped which includes the factory letter.
