H&P lock tuning?

Can anyone out there point me to someone who can work on the lock of a recently acquired H&P smoothbore? There are 2 issues. First, it goes into the cocked position so far forward that it appears to be in half cock position. Half cock is almost touching the nipple. Second, When firing, it hangs up on the half cock notch at least in half the firing attempts. I am hoping that someone at the Nationals can take care of this for me. This is not something I want to attempt on my own.

Sounds like the nose is busted off your sear. You will probably meed a replacement.

Yep if you do have the correct tumbler and the correct sear then that sear may have broke the end off.

I have had that happen on several repop guns. The metal in the repops are just not that good.

Being your is an original if the sear did not break then it may not be the correct one.
Few pictures of the back side of that lock would help.

Thank you for the replies. Yes, the nose or tip of the sear is broken off. Should be a simple fix.
