SOLD!
I've moved on (up?) to an H&P. Selling my Potsdam and all the goodies come with it:
--Bob Elka .722 mold
--cleaning rod
--47 loaded rounds in MTM cartridge boxes
--over 100 cast .722 balls

Details:
UPDATE: I added some poorly produced photos of the bore, did my best to properly represent it.
If you'd like to drop by the 110th and see it in person next week, just let me know.
All original Potsdam with SAC card, shoots a .722, hard lead, with 55g 3F Goex. Balls shaken in a can with a dab of Alox
Bore is very smooth [I ordered a bore light to photograph the bore condition. Will post pics when the light arrives tomorrow; this barrel is a gem, and needs to be properly documented. I could not get a good pic and need a light to do so], pulls a good siphon swabbing and doesn't lose patches. Trigger is excellent. I love the trigger on this gun, it's more crisp than any of my other skirmish guns. Like glass.
The preposterously strong mainspring sometimes mashes the innards out of caps and deposits the remains on the nipple. I keep a nipple pick handy to clear them out if this happens.
Stock has usual dents and dings (it was born ~1823, for heaven's sake!) but no repairs that I'm aware of or can see.
A very solid, accurate gun and I'll miss her. The sights on the H&P are unbelievably better, but anyway...

The mold: as far as I know, Mr. Elka isn't producing roundball molds any more. This one (it's a steel mold) casts excellent, true round balls with very little/no sprue. You don't need to "put the sprue facing up" to ram the ball down the barrel.
The jar of balls accompanying the gun were cast with this mold.

The loaded rounds: grab a practice target to get a feel for it, then go shoot smoothbore individuals with your new gun! These rounds were loaded for October 2021 Nationals. I haven't noticed any degradation in accuracy over time with Alox-coated ammo and expect them to hit just fine. They're stored in my house, in the MTM boxes, inside 50 cal ammo cans. I'd be shooting them this spring if the H&P hadn't landed in my lap.

Other stuff: I don't want to separate the gun/mold/etc., and will not ship. Will be at the Fort Weds. afternoon thru Sunday.

You can reach me here on the board or send me a text: 740 507 4887

Drive safe, thanks for lookin'!
