1863 Richmond

Is the nose cap on a 63 Richmond 3 Band Rifled Musket the same as a 55 Springfield? [type 1]. If not where should I look.

I saw a "dug" Richmond Rifle-Musket years ago and the nosecap was brass. Other than being made of brass, it looked just like the steel nosecaps found on the U.S. M1861's.

I think the 55 was riveted to the stock where the Richmond used a screw.
