Any knife experts out here know if Alfred Williams of Sheffield England produced pocket knives during the Civil War? I have an old pocket knife that belonged to my GG Grandfather but I'm thinking its post war.

Thanks

I am almost positive that he was born in 1865 & did not get into making knives until he was 26 years old.

If the blade is actually marked "Sheffield/England", then it was made no earlier than 1891. That is when the United States required imports of all kinds to be marked with the country of origin.
