I?m thinking about making myself some new cases for my Gallager carbine. I have access to CNC lathes so it shouldn?t be too difficult for me to do. I wanted to ask your guys opinion on the material. I can get Nylon or aluminum sticks fairly cheap compared to brass. I know the Smith and Maynard both have plastic and aluminum cases for them and the Burnside has Nylon available. Do you think the aluminum cases or nylon ones would work alright in the Gallager? Thanks

The Gallagher has a comparatively thin wall section neck. I'm not sure nylon cases would last very long. I'd stay with aluminum or brass.

I bought a bunch of the nylon cartridges 25 or so years ago and still using them true the lip is thin but they still hold the ball in place , using the rapine .540 ball I found at the nylon give me better accuracy than the brass cartridges
