The cap 'n balls use oversized ball. The .44 uses a .451 (a few use a .457). The .36 cals use a .38 ball. If you use a ball same caliber as the gun the ball will roll out of the chamber and land on your foot.
ANYWAY - trying to buy a .38 round ball mold these days is like trying to find Bigfoot.

The bore lands on this pistol is .356" in diameter and it likes .36 round balls

Had one for a while. Used .38s. Can't remember the gun expressing any preference. Would be a bit nervous with tolerances that close. Multiple discharges always exciting.
