Hi all,
Selling one of my early 1862 Joslyn Carbines in .52 caliber. Overall, I would rate this carbine as NRA good. Wood has several dents, dings, a few small chips, and one gouge from use. Has the typical cavalry use markings on the left side of the butt stock. Initials EGS also on the left side of the stock. One cartouche is visible on the left panel, albeit quite faint from use. No cracks. Brass fixtures are in good condition with a nice patina. Metal is mostly patina with some scale on the lock. 22" barrel is a mix of patina and thinning metal probably due to a cleaning from long ago. Lock functions perfectly and is strong. Bright bore is very nice with strong rifling and some very light crud in the grooves. I would rate an easy 8.5/10 and is quite shootable. Firing pin is broken toward the rear. This would require either repairing or replacing prior to use. SN 1727. All original. For quickest reply, please email me at markthenav@aol.com for questions or more pics. Need $850 plus actual shipping to the lower 48 or local pickup in Lancaster County, PA. Thanks for looking.

Best,
Mark
