Have a new Sharps shooter looking for a cartridge box. He doesn't do the internet thing. Doesn't have to be new, just serviceable.

Hi Dave,

I know you said your friend doesn't do the internet, but here is one on ebay with no internal box for $35:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/32X-CIVIL-WAR-US-UNION-CAVALRY-CARBINE-CARTRIDGE-BOX-AMMO-POUCH/274728499896

Here is one for $60 with the wooden block:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Civil-War-US-Union-Cavalry-Carbine-Cartridge-Box-Ammo-Pouch-With-Wooden-Block/353307170839

I bought the $35 one and 3D printed a two-piece internal box with cavities large enough to hold even .58 tubes. .69 tubes won't fit though.

SteveWhat did you think of the $35 box? I was disappointed because it did not come as represented in the pictures.

We're going to try a different approach. I have a spare Enfield box that is belt mounted. With a wood insert, it should hold plenty of ammo.

I did not compare it to the pictures, but it looks good to me. I bought the first one for my daughter and bought a second one for myself.

You can see pictures of mine and the 3D printed inserts I made for it here:
