Well here's the thing, I mentioned this deal to my wife. She in turn made reference to my "soundness of mind," made historical references to past occurrences when I went back to this gun while professing great love for same, and as I recall, at one point I believe she made use of the adjective, "flake." From a practical standpoint I still have no way to hit a hundred yard carbine target with the Maynard, sights such as they are. So I guess the bottom line is, I must seek a hiatus in this selling endeavor with apologies to Smokepoll.

That tells me one thing for sure............That you have a good shooter there with that Smith. I don't blame you. I wished my wife would have talked my out of selling good shooters in the past.

Wish my wife had talked me out of selling also. The Civil War era have many many cool carbines and I kept changing just for the experience? I would be happy if they were all still in my herd!!

I don't like to sell, but I love to trade. I have a repro Smith in good condition that I can part with. As I get older, originals float my boat.
