Here is an all-original, 1809 Potsdam Civil War import musket in .72 caliber with original bayonet. Musket was found in Berks County, PA not to long ago. It is in "attic find" condition and has not been messed with. Lock functions perfectly and the musket is all original and correct, including the cleaning rod and bayonet. Other than a tight 1" hairline near the butt plate, the stock is in well above average condition. No wood loss on the ramrod channel and a few very small chips near the sideplate/lock. Appears to have an old coat of varnish applied to the wood. Metal and brass are dark patina with scattered peppering on the metal surfaces. Nipple is also original. Bore has not been cleaned and has some light, consistent rust throughout. I suspect, if cleaned, it would be peppered throughout. Cleaning rod is full length and correct. Bayonet fits well and matches the patina of the rifle nearly perfectly. All in all a very solid, neat civil war import musket. Need $625 plus actual shipping or pickup in Lancaster County, PA. Please feel free to request more pics or ask questions by emailing markthenav@aol.com. Thanks for looking.
