I hate to do it, but I have an itching for something else bigger. Up for sale in my all original 5th model burnside with a late 35XXXX s/n. Excellent shape. The stock only has a couple of dings. Car touche is visible, but not eye legible (need magnifying glass). The breech is scratch-less. Still has case coloring when in sunlight, especially on the inside of the breech. The barrel is impeccably crisp and clean. only a little discoloring on the inside at the muzzle. Not a spot of rust to be found. The only bad thing is the lettering is missing off of the plate, except for the inspectors mark. It may have been tinkered with. Still has the s/n on the inside though.
I bought 75 plastic cartridges when I first got it and shot some round ball. Got it down to a 1 1/2in grouping at 50yds after about 25 rounds. Those are included as well as the lee mold when I find it. Well taken care of.
This is a must see to appreciate the asking price. I can show if needed. I was recently at a show in Harrisburg and stopped at a table that had a piece of junk 5th model for half my price $3k. When I showed him this one, his eyes lit up like a spot light. The director of the show soon came over to see and told me to take no less than $4500. That would include the cartridges and the mold. We'll talk about shipping/pickup as I'd hate to loose this in the mail.
