I have a civil war Lorenz. I am shooting a .545 sized minie ,problem is it will shoot fine then 1 in 4 will tumble. 60grs 3f beeswax/ beef tallow lube. I must say the old girl is well used. Any help thanks

How many rounds will "...shoot fine..." before you begin to see key holing?

What is the actual bore diameter compared to the sized bullet of 0.545"?

Are you experiencing heavy fouling?

Is there an undue amount of fouling near the muzzle?

Is the bore pitted?

547 will fit but hard to push in last 6" some heavy pits ,5455 will load very nice. May start out 1,2 shots fine ,then 1 will tumble. Brush bore between shots no different fowling not bad . 60grs 3f home made lube
