Can you go into more detail as to the welding on the hammer? I assume it will fit in an 1863 Springfield musket.

Dear Sir, Even though the Robinson is dated 1863, this contractor as far as I know, only used 1861 configuration barrels. The Hammer on this lock is set up to strike a 1861 type bolster, and the weld on the hammer rim is hardly noticeable, I don't think you would know it, if I had not mentioned it.
