Hello:
A friend sent a picture of an original, unaltered Smith carbine intact, black gutta-percha ctg. with a solid, bright (aged), 1/8" red stripe running along its side from the rear end to front end of the case.
Supposedly there are only a few examples, but no specific history info.
If anyone knows about this variant, please share.
