Hey everybody! I bought this rifle from a member on here about eight years ago and the time to sell has come. You can read the description below or on the listing at Armslist (https://www.armslist.com/posts/11893865/hampton-roads-virginia-antiques-for-sale--1861-springfield-reproduction---dixie-gun-works-miroku--japan----willing-to-ship).

For sale is a reproduction of an 1861 Springfield Rifle Musket made by Miroku (Japan), sold originally as a kit from Dixie Gun Works. Rifle is made of steel with a walnut stock (http://i.viglink.com/?key=47e6ebd812179776507f9eefdb6129b6&insertId=5de6d89de26e44f4&type=KW&exp=-1%3Ana%3A0&libId=kaxyu60n0102wy5x000DL1dlmlcrtw0adk&loc=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.armslist.com%2Fposts%2F11893 865%2Fhampton-roads-virginia-antiques-for-sale--1861-springfield-reproduction---dixie-gun-works-miroku--japan----willing-to-ship&v=1&iid=5de6d89de26e44f4&out=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.brownells.com%2Fitems%2Fwaln ut-rifle-stocks.aspx&title=ARMSLIST%20-%20For%20Sale%3A%201861%20Springfield%20Reproducti on%20-%20Dixie%20Gun%20Works%2FMiroku%20(Japan)%20-%20Willing%20to%20Ship&txt=%3Cspan%3Ewalnut%20%3C%2Fspan%3E%3Cspan%3Estoc k%3C%2Fspan%3E) and comes with a nice leather sling (from Gettysburg's Regimental Quartermaster). These rifles (http://i.viglink.com/?key=47e6ebd812179776507f9eefdb6129b6&insertId=809fc84a9a1bfbc8&type=KW&exp=-1%3Ana%3A0&libId=kaxyu60n0102wy5x000DL1dlmlcrtw0adk&loc=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.armslist.com%2Fposts%2F11893 865%2Fhampton-roads-virginia-antiques-for-sale--1861-springfield-reproduction---dixie-gun-works-miroku--japan----willing-to-ship&v=1&iid=809fc84a9a1bfbc8&out=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.guns.com%2Ffirearms%2Frifles&title=ARMSLIST%20-%20For%20Sale%3A%201861%20Springfield%20Reproducti on%20-%20Dixie%20Gun%20Works%2FMiroku%20(Japan)%20-%20Willing%20to%20Ship&txt=%3Cspan%3Erifles%3C%2Fspan%3E) are relatively rare and are considered by reenactors to be one of the best reproductions on the market. The original owner used this rifle for N-SSA competitions. I am the rifle's second owner and have used it primarily for reenacting/living history demonstrations, but have also fired a number of rounds through it without issue.

The rifle itself is in very good condition (I'd rate it at about 85%, give or take). Everything works great and there are only a few minor defects in the rifle's appearance. There is some minor corrosion on the butt plate (http://i.viglink.com/?key=47e6ebd812179776507f9eefdb6129b6&insertId=3d6b82b2509fea54&type=KW&exp=-1%3Ana%3A0&libId=kaxyu60n0102wy5x000DL1dlmlcrtw0adk&loc=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.armslist.com%2Fposts%2F11893 865%2Fhampton-roads-virginia-antiques-for-sale--1861-springfield-reproduction---dixie-gun-works-miroku--japan----willing-to-ship&v=1&iid=3d6b82b2509fea54&out=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.brownells.com%2Fsearch%2Find ex.htm%3Fk%3Dbutt%2Bplate&title=ARMSLIST%20-%20For%20Sale%3A%201861%20Springfield%20Reproducti on%20-%20Dixie%20Gun%20Works%2FMiroku%20(Japan)%20-%20Willing%20to%20Ship&txt=%3Cspan%3Ebutt%20%3C%2Fspan%3E%3Cspan%3Eplate% 3C%2Fspan%3E), some light scratches on the stock, and some light scratches on the barrel (especially towards the muzzle from use of a bayonet). One defect not visible in the photos is that the rear sight (http://i.viglink.com/?key=47e6ebd812179776507f9eefdb6129b6&insertId=072f61046e4d2b4f&type=KW&exp=-1%3Ana%3A0&libId=kaxyu60n0102wy5x000DL1dlmlcrtw0adk&loc=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.armslist.com%2Fposts%2F11893 865%2Fhampton-roads-virginia-antiques-for-sale--1861-springfield-reproduction---dixie-gun-works-miroku--japan----willing-to-ship&v=1&iid=072f61046e4d2b4f&out=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.brownells.com%2Frifle-parts%2Fsights%2Frear-sights%2Findex.htm&title=ARMSLIST%20-%20For%20Sale%3A%201861%20Springfield%20Reproducti on%20-%20Dixie%20Gun%20Works%2FMiroku%20(Japan)%20-%20Willing%20to%20Ship&txt=%3Cspan%3Erear%20%3C%2Fspan%3E%3Cspan%3Esight% 3C%2Fspan%3E) is slightly off-center, but perfectly usable with adjustment for that fact.

There is no internal rust and everything has been thoroughly cleaned and oiled. Overall, this is a great rifle. I am more than willing to ship this rifle for $40. Because this is considered an "antique" firearm, no FFL transfer is required by law. If you want any more photos or have any questions, feel free to shoot me a PM. Thanks for looking!
