A while back I noticed a 63 Springfield Artillery model musket on the line at Nationals, that looked like it was mounted on a modified Trapdoor stock.
Is this allowed? Just curious.

Charlie - Years ago, because of the scarcity of reproduction stocks some Springfield .45-70 stocks were allowed to be used, all of which have been "Grandfathered". Today, the use of Springfield .45-70 stocks is not allowed, very simply because they do not have the correct profile for a Civil War musket stock. Thank you for asking.
