Approved smoothbore muskets

Which of the many smoothbore Civil War models are approved? What info would be required for a model submitted for approval? I have heard that very few of the various models are approved...is this true?

You might want to look at the approved arms list. You are familiar with it aren't you? As you probably know from 40+ years in the nssa if it doesn't appear on the list , it has to be submitted for individual approval. At least that's what I've been lead to believe. G Pope 7790

Hello Pope,
With the exception of two years since 2000, the other 44 years of my service was before 2000! If I knew where to look ---I would not have asked the question. Dumb me .... expecting somebody to come back with an answer to my question! There have been more changes in the association than I anticipated in the last 20 years and it appears that most of them were not for the better of the association. No wonder the sport is in a fast decline.

Joe, you might have been better served if you had asked about a specific smoothbore. If it is one you had built for you it will need and individual inspection anyway.
