This is a shout out to Robert Bradley who turned some new core plugs from my minnie molds. I'm especially pleased with the new plug for my Lyman .685 minnie. The original plug was too shallow made too thick a skirt to allow good expansion. It made a big difference in my Rifled Model 1842.

He used brass on mine and also turned a nice wood handle for it. Here is a pic of the new plug.

Robert Bradley does very nice work! And, for those who may question the replacement base pin, the Pritichett type cavity is an authentic form of cavity as seen in some Civil War battlefield recovered 0.69" caliber bullets. For those who life authenticity, this is a good choice for a lighter bullet without going to a modern Semi-Wadcutter.
