I was back to the 117th Spring National and came home with a renewed love for the sport. I was able to purchase a Taylor Spencer in 56-50 and I'm surprised at the lack of data on loading, sights etc. I have yet to find what the proper trim length if any for the Starline brass should be. So far with 33 gr 3F and the 515139 bullet in soft lead the gun will shoot 3 " groups at 50yds and 4 to 41/2" groups at 100yds from the bench. The only limitation is that my tired old eyes can't adjust to the sights. Has anyone done sight work or found a better mouse trap to look thru. Also I have seen posted that someone replaced the rear with an orignal sight. I know that there are repro Smith sights being made, is anyone making a Spencer sight. Once I settle on a load I can start to adjust the sights but I don't want to cut the front until I have a rear sight that works.

If anyone has any info pls pass it on.
Thanks Jim
