Hi there,
Looking for an original mainspring and Type 1 (early) firing pin. Please email me at markthenav@aol.com if you have these and are willing to sell them. Thanks for the help.

Mark, Is't the Type 1 a percussion model?

Hi Bruce,
The 1855 rifle was the percussion version of the Joslyn. The 1862 carbine is sometimes referred to the Type 1, and the 1864 carbine the Type 2. Both of these carbines were rimfire. The 1862 carbine had a flat faced firing pin, much like a .22 today. The 1864 carbine had a tapered, round faced firing pin. Sorry for the confusion and I hope this makes more sense.
