Hello all, I have owned this bayonet and scabbard for quite a long time. I believe it is dated around the civil war period.
I am looking for help to identify the type, date and value.
I also may be interested in selling.
Note the bayonet has had the bluing removed and is bare metal.
I can be contacted at rminol@yahoo.com

Any help is appreciated, thanks to all.

It looks like the bayonet and scabbard for the 1853 Enfield rifle musket. The crown and WD denote ownership of the British government.WD stands for War Department.

I'm not sure of the current prices on these. When I was in Afghanistan in 2004-2007, Enfield bayonts were selling for around $75. My guess is that a scabbord in that good of a condition would cost as much as the bayonet itsself. You might want to check some on-line auction sites that deal in artifacts from the War of Northern Aggression.
