Cap and Ball Revolver loading press for modern shooting of Civil War revolvers.

For those who are seeking a way around using the often frail loading levers built into CW revolvers. This press allows the revolver cylinder to be loaded after being removed from the revolver. The brass portion that seats the ball is recessed so that the ball is seated at the same depth in the chamber for each round ensuring consistent pressure in every shot. The ball also is always seated below the chamber mouth preventing the cylinder from getting jammed from a ball that is not all the way in while shooting.

The frame is structural aluminum angle, and the handle/lever is cold rolled steel.

The pin for the cylinder is steel also, and is 7mm in size, which fits more Italian reproduction 1858 Remingtons but may also work for Rodgers and Spencer and other types. I adapted one to work with both a Remington and my Lemat with a little additional work.

I got interested all of a sudden in shooting CW revolvers and wanted a press to load with, so I learned how to use the machines in the process, and we ended up making 10 of these.

I have four still available for sale at $55.00 shipping included.
Paypal preferred, but check or cash also accepted. Contact me at minieball577@yahoo.com

Chris,

I will take one, please! Is it for .36 or .44?

Chris, What stops you from pushing the ball in too far? Is there a shoulder on the brass pusher?

Yes, the plunger has a shoulder on it, which is why the ball gets seated to the same depth each time. There is no way to go too far.
