Steve, i plan to buy Pedersoli Gibbs rifle .451. But bulets which pedersoli sale for this rifle are grease grouves .0451 that s OK
But every where good shooters talk that best precision whit this rifle is with paper patched grease grouved bulet 0.450. But without paper i will need bulet 0.442
And i want only resize bulet do not want to make mold and casting

While I am not familiar with ammo for Gibbs Rifles, paper patched bullets for muzzleloaders are usually waxed by the patched part of the bullet being dipped in a molten mixture of beeswax and tallow.

Suggest you get in contact with some of the people that compete in the 1,000 yard, muzzleloading matches held by a gun club at Oak Ridge, Tennessee. I understand many of the competitors that win, use Gibbs Rifles. Find out what type of ammo they are using.

Hello:

Have done a lot over decades w paper patched bullets in MUZZLE loaders.
They can be scary/consistently accurate if properly fitted.

But the barrel HAS TO BE REALLY WELL MADE and the bullet-patch combo MUST prevent gas cutting!

There are misleading and superficial threads on the Internet about this so do NOTHING until you speak with a credible person. Make SURE one person's info is reinforced by that of others. Some spout witch craft that doesn't help.

First, the FIT of the patched bullet is critical. They must fit closely so WIPING BETWEEN SHOTS is usually necessary to load tight enough to prevent gas cutting and flyers.
The paper must be 100% cotton rag bond and hard sized for a very smooth surface.
Cranes CREST from a "fine paper" house such as a wedding invitation printer is a must.
Cheap paper is not consistent. Until we found CREST, we used parts of dollar bills with cross-weave grain for strength. Yes!
Any crap in/on the paper will usually cause problems. A few tried plastic coated freezer paper - yuck.
A friend and I developed a coating for our CREST paper patch that allowed tighter loading. That's a long story and not necessary for your work.
Normally, the lube must be 100% natural to prevent buildup in the bore.
Some used sperm (whale) oil from Brownells, but that's scarce. Jojoba oil is close.

Best to GO TO A SHOOT and ask questions AFTER the day's shooting is completed.

Then test fire and go down range and retrieve YOUR patches. Look for shredding that indicates poor fit, improper oil type or a rough bore causing dreaded gas cutting.

Then learn to achieve uniform muzzle velocity to prevent vertical shot stringing.

There are several NMLRA shooters at Friendship that live this game. I used to.
Fast way to come up to speed would be to visit there for a Spring or Fall National.
You can learn so much in one visit.
Our rifles consistently shot minute-of-angle to at least 300 yards. Yes, with scopes.
Then it's condition doping that takes lots of experience. Good wind flags MATTER.
