Howdy!

I noticed on Dixie Gun Works site, their (apparently fancy) Pietta Remington New Model Army model #SS1173 is currently on sale, $100 off. That puts it $55 less than the Pietta "shooters model." Does anyone have any experience or comparison between the two? My searches of the N-SSA archive would suggest that no one has ever bought a Dixie Remington SS1173; there's tons of info about the Pietta Shooters Model out there though. The descriptions aren't 100% the same, one having 1-32" rifling, the other 1-30", but both have progressive rifling. Just curious whether the DGW Pietta Remington (the expensive one) is much different than a regular $275 DGW Pietta Remington, and how it stacks up against the well-known Pietta Shooters Model. Any info would be appreciated.

If anyone is curious, this is what Dixie Gun Works said about the difference between the two:

Dear Sir:
The SS1173 has a brass triggerguard and also the barrel to cylinder chamber
doesn't line up as well as it does on the RH0135. The RH0135 has a silver
plated triggerguard.
Thanks,
