I picked up a new in the box Pedersoli 1858 Rem revolver. I was searching for loads people had used. I watched a Video ( Cap and Ball was the name) of an individual shooting the revolver and discussed the loads used. I believe he was using 16 gr of 3f. At the end of the video he shot a load of I believe was 7 gr of swiss 4f and the goup size was 1/2 the size of previous. Has anyone tried anything like that ?

I use 7 grains of Swiss 4F in my R&S .44. it works very well. No kick, sounds like a .22.

Do you use filler?

I was shooting 9 grains in my Hege at one point. 3F. I've tried 4F, but had issues with it running out of the nipples. I do like 4F for flintlock pistol propellant, though, as it gives much faster ignition.

Yes I use cream of wheat for filler.
