I have for sale a pretty decent P1858 Naval Rifle, or perhaps a brass mounted commercial P1860 rifle. The barrel has a pretty good 5 groove bore and Birmingham proofs. The lock is 1861 dated Tower marked. There are no visible maker's marks on the stock, which has been refinished and shellacked. I have not pulled the lock or barrel to look for other markings. No Confederate viewers marks are visible.
The gun is missing the rear sight, hence the possibility of it being a P1858 or P1860, as well as the sling swivels and ramrod. The bayonet lug has been professionally removed and there really isn't an indication that there was one to begin with.
Mechanically the lock is good, although the hammer has a little play on the tumbler.
