After cleaning my carbine, and assembled back together, noticed the lever was really loose. Took off fore stock, to find the lever spring is cracked. Where can I get a replacement spring? And, has anyone shot their carbine or Rifle, with a broken spring? I ask because I have no clue when it cracked. Shot last weekend in Dansville, and still performed great, but still not knowing when it cracked. Thank you

Replacement lever springs might be available from Dixie Gun Works and S&S Firearms. The lever spring on my Shiloh Sharps broke a while back and I got a replacement from Shiloh. Not sure if Shiloh and Petersoli springs are interchangeable. Some hand fitting might be required. You might be able to fire the carbine with a broken lever spring but I'd lock the lever in place with the catch at the rear of the lever to be on the safe side.

Taylors can probably get one for you.

Even if I haven't shot some of my muskets in a while, I pull them out and push patches through. I do the same for my Pedersoli Sharps. Once I lowered the breech block and it slid right out because the lever was broken. I ordered a replacement lever from Dixie and got it within a week and put it in my Sharps. It has worked fine ever since then.

Old thread, but I just pulled my Pedersoli P1859 off of the wall and was working the action and heard "pop!" Yup, my lever spring cracked.

Dixie Gun Works has them.

VTI gun parts has about the most complete listing of pedersoli parts.

I went and looked, and they don't seem to have the 1859 Sharps listed, but if you go to the Pedersoli Quigley Sporting Rifle or their 1874 Sharps and look at the Sharps Lever Spring found there (and I think it's the same one), they want $29 for it.

Dixie Gun Works is half price.

Always good to have another source though.
