Gentlemen,
I just aquired a .45 cva percussion pistol. Looks in decent shape and probably a kit from the late 70s-80s.
What is a suggested poder charge?
Thanks,
David

David,
As with any pistol of unknown origin or care over the years, it is a good idea to have the pistol checked by a competent gunsmith, knowledgable with black powder.

The gunsmith will also be able to give you a better idea of the loading charge for your pistol.

Take care and be safe

David...Your gun will shoot best with 15 to 25 grains powder 3FFF.
MAKE SURE THE BREECH PLUG IS NOT RUSTED ....otherwise should be OK.
