NOE Hodgdon Moulds?

Anyone here have any experience with the multiple minie moulds they make?

I found out about them this morning and am interested because they can do up to 4 minies at a time and with the number of rifles I am loading for (newbies) the ability to do large quantities interests me greatly.

I bought one but have not used it yet, so I can't give any advice, other than to note it came with 2 sets of core pins to produce different depth cavities (and thus different weights).

I like the swing-out core pin design of the Noe hollow-base bullet molds. This is what enables multiple cavities.

I have hesitated to use it as I don't want to go through another set of load workups with a new bullet, and I don't really shoot the Hogdgon bullet anymore (or any hollow-based bullets, for that matter).

I use the Moose Wilkinson in my musket, and a Christmas tree in my Sharps.

Myself and a teammate each bought one last year. I molded several hundreds of minies but due to a large stock of Hogdon minies, I have not yet shot the NOE's. It's a pleasure mold four at a time. It took some getting used to but it's fast. My teammate loaded several hundred rounds and tried them in practice and during skirmishes. He had a problem with keyholing for some yet to be determined reason. He is loading exactly the same as he did with the Hogdon mold. What he did notice is that the skirt of the NOE is much thicker than the Hogdon and possibly the minie is not expanding sufficiently to engage the rifling? I do not know the hardness of the lead he is using?

My thought was to contact NOE and have them make a larger base plug thereby reducing the skirt thickness BUT that was just a thought and I have not followed through. John DeWald makes larger base plugs for the Hogdon so I'm sure this can be accomplished with the NOE. My 2 cents.
