For a number of years I've been befuddled by my Maynard's elevation leafs. The gun shoots nicely at 50 yards with the low rear sight as is. However when switching to 100 yards I was at sea since the second leaf on the gun is set for 300 yards. After ponderous thought I devised a solution: a wedge that slides in under the second leaf raising it just partially. The wedge is made from a tiny rubber toilet gasket cut to shape. It is slidable allowing for adjustment to perfect elevation and held in place by Dollar Store sticky glue. Even slanted like that it presents a very acceptable sight picture. Glory on the 100 yard line awaits. (The gun was already perfectly tuned with that jury rigged mainspring I thinned out along the flats [and Hoyt liner]).
Don't forget to pick up your "Flame of Battle" books on Friday at 3:00 at the Small Arms Building. Some copies still available.

When you see Mr. Van Eldik you think old lumberjack........I'm trying to picture you wrapping that huge flyswatter of yours around that lil Maynard. Now if you had Trumps small hands maybe? ;)
